TwitchCon 2019 is coming to Europe! Here’s what you need to know

Meet your favourite streamers, learn what it takes to be a Twitch star and more!

It’s no secret that we love Twitch over at Shadow HQ. In fact, we’ve recently launched a content creator community called ShadowMakers, where creative streamers play their favourite games through Shadow, uniting our love of cloud computing, video games and the art of streaming (you can follow their channel here). We’ll share more information about this soon.

With that in mind, we’re delighted that the first European TwitchCon will be coming to the CityCube in Berlin next week! The event, which takes place between 13th-14th April, focuses on everything great about Twitch - and with an abundance of exhibitions, visitors and special events happening across the weekend, it’s set to be amazing. Here’s the scoop.

What can we expect from TwitchCon?

Whether you’re a budding streamer or just enjoy watching your favourite Twitch gamers play, there’ll be something for you to enjoy at TwitchCon. Head over to the Creator Camp to pick up some tips on how to make the most of your Twitch channel - from making more money to building your community - or say hello to your favourite streamers at one of the event’s various Meet and Greets. If you’d like to splash a little cash, TwitchCon will boast 70+ exhibits and an amazing Loot Cave, too, where lots of awesome merch will be available. It’s all happening.

If you haven’t snagged a ticket to the event, don’t worry. As much of TwitchCon will be livestreamed, there’s plenty you can enjoy from the comfort of your couch at home: including events such as the Streamer Zone (where streamers will be broadcasting live from the show) and ESA Speedrunning, where streamers will dash through games to raise money for charity. Perhaps most excitingly, the brand-new Twitch Rivals segment will pitch Twitch streamers against each other at various esports in a fight for victory... we know we’ll be watching.

Who’s invited?

Everyone. Pretty much. Come face-to-face with celebrity streamers from B0aty and LaeppaStream to Sodapoppin and Kamet0, and many more in-between. All TwitchCon partners are listed on the official TwitchCon website, and you can search for your favourites there.

That being said - you really don’t need to be a streamer to attend TwitchCon. The event is for everyone, and the organisers have taken special measures to ensure that the venue is accessible for those with disabilities or hearing/visual impairments, so that everyone can enjoy the event to the max. (Yay!)

When and where should I watch?

TwitchCon will run from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on both Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th. You can watch from the official TwitchCon Twitch page (unless you’re lucky enough to have gotten a ticket and will be there yourself).

Get hyped

The gaming community is at the very heart and soul of what we do here at Shadow, so we’re (tw)itching to see what TwitchCon - which will focus strongly on what brings gamers and streamers together - conjures up. It’s bound to be a weekend full of laughter, gaming and friendship....make sure you tune in.
