Play WoW Forever without a gaming PC, addons included
Azeroth is calling again, and your old PC isn't answering. World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4: play it on a real RTX Windows PC in the cloud, on the screen you already have.
The account survived. The machine didn't.
You know how it starts. Someone posts a screenshot of snow over Dun Morogh, a guildmate you haven't spoken to since 2014 texts you two words, and you find yourself trying to remember a Battle.net password. The login still works. What's gone is the tower that used to run it: given to a cousin, sold for parts, replaced years ago by a work laptop and a Mac on the kitchen table.
That's usually where the comeback dies. Not for lack of wanting, but because coming back would mean buying a machine for an urge that's four days old. Shadow PC removes that step: a full Windows 11 PC with its own RTX card, streamed to whatever screen is in front of you. Install Battle.net, log back in, and World of Warcraft: Forever runs on the laptop that's already on the couch, from launch day on November 4. World of Warcraft already runs there today. So yes, you can play WoW Forever with no gaming PC, and the machine is the one part of this you don't have to worry about.
What a WoW Forever comeback looks like on Shadow PC
1. Forever is the Azeroth you remember, not fifteen years of catching up
The level cap stays at 60 for good, and progression comes from what you do rather than a number you chase. Three new zones, more than a thousand quests, nine dungeons and two raids sit on top of the world you already know, with the Skyborne Elves and pairings like Forsaken paladins or Dwarf shamans for the character you never got to roll. Nobody hands you a stack of expansions to clear first. After a beta that ran from September 17 to October 23, the full game opens on November 4, included with an active WoW subscription or game time.
2. The addons that made the jump to Forever
Forever runs on Blizzard's modern interface and keeps the addon rules Midnight brought in, so addons get far less to read in the middle of a fight. Blizzard fills part of the gap itself, with a built-in damage meter and Cooldown Manager. The rest is finding what was rebuilt for Forever. Deadly Boss Mods, BigWigs, Plater and Details! already have Forever versions, Questie is back for quest routes, Auctionator for the auction house, and CurseForge lets you filter addons by the Forever game version. The official WeakAuras hasn't made the jump, but community forks like ForeverAuras are starting to fill the gap.
Shadow PC doesn't pick for you. It's a real Windows PC: you install what exists, from CurseForge or a zip out of a Discord, and update the day an author ships a new build. Catalog-based services work the other way. On WoW retail and Classic, GeForce Now preinstalls a curated set of more than 25 CurseForge addons for paid members. If an addon isn't on that list, you can't add it.

3. Ready on November 4, and still yours after
A Shadow PC is a Windows PC that stays set up between sessions: Battle.net, the Forever client, your addon manager and your settings are still there every time you connect. The client downloads to our 512 GB SSD at up to 1 Gb/s, so the 128 GB Blizzard asks you to free up comes off our drive, not yours. The sub is monthly with no commitment, so you can size up for launch week and back down once your playing settles.

The Shadow PC that fits a return to Azeroth
The Battle.net shop lists 8 GB of VRAM for Forever. Power gives you 20 GB, with 28 GB of RAM behind it, and streams up to 5K. Neo is plenty for 1080p or 1440p on a laptop screen, which is where most comebacks happen. Both come with a dedicated NVIDIA RTX GPU and 512 GB of SSD, expandable up to 5 TB, with no commitment.

Getting started in 3 easy steps
A MacBook, a five-year-old laptop or a Chromebook is enough to be back in Azeroth the same evening. Nothing to build, no drive to clear, just a stable connection (see the requirements).
Go to shadow.tech and pick the configuration that matches the resolution you play at.
Install the Shadow app on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Android TV, Apple TV or Linux, or connect straight from pc.shadow.tech in a Chromium browser.
Start your Shadow PC, install Battle.net and your addon manager, and launch World of Warcraft: Forever. Remembering your keybinds is on you.
WoW Forever at a glance
Announced at BlizzCon on September 12, 2026, World of Warcraft: Forever grows the original Azeroth instead of replacing it. The level cap stays at 60 for good, and progression comes from what you do rather than a number you reach. Three new zones, more than a thousand quests, nine dungeons and two raids, plus the Skyborne Elves and new race and class pairings like Forsaken paladins and Dwarf shamans. The beta ran from September 17 to October 23, and the game launches on November 4, 2026, included with an active WoW subscription or game time. Upgrade packs like the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection are optional.
Other MMORPGs run on Shadow PC too, like AION 2, Final Fantasy XIV or The Elder Scrolls Online. See every game you can play on Shadow PC.

FAQ
A complete Windows 11 gaming PC that lives in the cloud, with its own dedicated NVIDIA RTX GPU. You install what you want on it. There's no fixed catalog to pick from.
An active WoW subscription or game time, which covers Forever from its launch on November 4, and a machine that can run the client. That second part is what Shadow PC handles, so a Mac or a work laptop is enough.
Yes, it runs there today. Battle.net installs the way it would on any Windows PC, and World of Warcraft: Forever shows up in the launcher with your WoW account.
No. Forever is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time. The Skyborne packs and the Warcraft Forever Collection are optional extras. Shadow PC gives you the machine, your Blizzard account gives you the game.
The ones rebuilt for Forever, which follows the same combat restrictions Blizzard introduced with Midnight. At the time of writing, Deadly Boss Mods, BigWigs, Plater, Details!, Questie and Auctionator have Forever versions, and CurseForge lets you filter by the Forever game version. The official WeakAuras doesn't have one, though community forks like ForeverAuras exist. The game also ships its own damage meter and Cooldown Manager.
The same way you would on your own PC. Use CurseForge, or unzip an addon by hand into the Interface\AddOns folder of your Forever installation, which has its own directory inside World of Warcraft. Your Shadow PC keeps its files between sessions, so you set things up once.
No. The client downloads to your Shadow PC's 512 GB SSD at up to 1 Gb/s inside the datacenter. The 128 GB of free space Blizzard asks for comes off our drive.
Yes. The Shadow app runs on macOS, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, Android TV and Apple TV, and pc.shadow.tech works in any Chromium browser, Chromebooks included. Plan on 15 Mb/s as a floor and 50 Mb/s for comfortable 1080p.
Six hours on a Shadow PC, with as many sessions as you like and an instant reconnect, inside 210 hours a month. The PC also shuts down after 30 minutes of inactivity, so an afternoon spent alt-tabbed doesn't quietly burn your quota.
On a stable 50 Mb/s connection, over Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, latency is virtually imperceptible and the picture matches a local install. Wired is still the safer call for Mythic progression.
