The climb according to Cairn
Cairn puts you in the shoes of Aava on a climb that is as much a sporting feat as it is a survival challenge. The hand-carved Mount Kami becomes your vertical puzzle.
Every movement is physical: you position your hands and feet, manage your balance, and gauge fatigue from your breathing and tremors, without a HUD. Falling is punished by your reading of the rock, not a timer.
Climb anywhere: cracks, overhangs, ledges... Observe, chart your own course, and invent your route to the next rock ledge. The rock is the level design.
Lightweight gear, changing weather, altitude, and oxygen are important factors. Peaks serve as backups/checkpoints: choosing where to set up camp means choosing your margin for error.
Expedition Mode: replay Kami, even on Mac
Once you've completed story mode, Expedition Mode drastically increases replayability: set up the climb, play as Aava or Marco, try free soloing for pure thrills, and compare your routes/times with other players.
