Boosteroid vs GeForce Now, and the third option
Two services that stream games from a list, compared honestly. Then the option neither of them offers: the whole PC. Updated October 2026.
See the offers- No hour cap on Boosteroid
- 100 h a month on GeForce Now paid plans
- 210 h a month on Shadow PC
The short answer. Boosteroid vs GeForce Now comes down to price against power. Boosteroid has the lower entry price, from €7.49 a month on a yearly plan, and no limit on hours or session length. GeForce Now has a free tier, a longer game list and RTX 5080 hardware, with 100 hours a month on its paid plans. Both stream games from your existing library, as long as those games are on their list.
That last condition is where a third option comes in. Shadow PC is not a game list: it is a complete Windows PC in the cloud, where you install any launcher, mod or app yourself. It is worth knowing about if a game you play, a mod you use or a tool you need is missing from both.

Price and limits: Boosteroid's strong suit
This is where Boosteroid wins, and it is the reason most people look at it. Its entry plan starts at €7.49 a month when you pay for the year, and Boosteroid sets no limit on session length or on monthly hours. There is no free plan, though.
GeForce Now goes the other way. Its free tier lets you play without paying, with queues and short sessions. Its paid Performance and Ultimate plans include 100 hours a month, with up to 15 unused hours carried over, and NVIDIA sells extra hours beyond that.
Shadow PC sits outside this race. Its Shadow PC range includes 210 hours a month with sessions of up to 6 hours, Shadow PC Lite 120 hours and 4 hours.

The games: two lists, your library
Both services work on the same idea: you bring games you already own on Steam, Epic Games, Ubisoft Connect, EA app or Battle.net, and they stream the ones they support.
GeForce Now publishes the larger list, more than 4,500 games, and adds Install-to-Play for extra Steam titles on paid plans. Boosteroid describes its catalog as hundreds of titles and also streams PC Game Pass games.
The rule is the same on both: if a game is not on the list, it does not start. Before you subscribe to either, search for every game you play, including the small ones.

Graphics and screens: close, with nuances
GeForce Now Ultimate runs on RTX 5080 rigs, up to 5K HDR at 120 fps, and it supports the widest range of devices, Steam Deck and VR headsets included. Boosteroid runs on AMD GPUs and streams in a browser or its apps on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Android TV, Chromebook and some Samsung and LG TVs.
Shadow PC gives you a dedicated NVIDIA RTX GPU, up to 5K at 240 Hz per screen on the Shadow PC range, with apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Android TV and Apple TV, or a browser tab at pc.shadow.tech.

Mods and launchers neither of them carries
Boosteroid and GeForce Now stream games, and neither gives you a Windows desktop. So there is nowhere to install a mod manager, a FiveM client or a launcher they do not support.
Shadow PC is that desktop. You install Steam and the rest yourself, then Nexus Mods, CurseForge or the Steam Workshop, and everything stays on your drive between sessions. It is not a niche use: this summer, the game our players spent the most hours in was FiveM, the GTA V roleplay mod.

Talk, clip and stream from one PC
A game stream is just that: the game. On Shadow PC, your voice chat runs next to it, Discord or TeamSpeak on the same machine. One in three of our players keeps Discord, Medal or OBS open while they play.
Clip a moment with Medal, turn it into a short with CapCut or DaVinci Resolve, go live with OBS, all without a second computer. And because the PC is yours, you download and install whatever you want, at 1 Gb/s.

A cloud PC, not a game stream
Boosteroid promises no downloads, no storage and no updates, and for a pure streaming service that is the point. It also means nothing of yours lives on the machine.
A Shadow PC keeps what you put on it: 512 GB of storage on the Shadow PC range, 256 GB on Shadow PC Lite, expandable up to 5 TB. Your saves, your mod folders, your creative projects are where you left them, from your laptop to your TV to a browser tab.
It costs more than an entry streaming plan, and it is a different thing: you are not renting access to a list of games, you are renting a computer.

If you need the whole PC
Start with Shadow PC Lite if you play a few hours a day, or take Shadow PC for 210 hours a month and two screens. You can switch as you go.

Questions about Boosteroid and GeForce Now
At the entry level, yes. Boosteroid starts at €7.49 a month on a yearly plan, according to its website in October 2026, and has no hour cap. GeForce Now is free on its basic tier, but its paid Performance and Ultimate plans cost more and include 100 hours a month. Prices change often and vary by market: check both sites before you choose.
No. Boosteroid has no free plan: you pay from the first month, with the best price on a yearly subscription. GeForce Now is the one of the two with a free tier, with longer queues and sessions limited to a shorter length than on its paid plans.
No. Boosteroid sets no limit on session length or on monthly hours, which is one of its main advantages over GeForce Now, whose paid plans include 100 hours a month. Boosteroid does disconnect you after a few minutes of inactivity.
Yes, with the same condition on both. You link your Steam account, and the other stores each service supports, and you play the games you own that are on its list. A game that is not on the list does not start, even if you own it. On Shadow PC you install Steam itself and any game in your library, except about thirty titles with a strict anti-cheat.
No. Boosteroid streams games without giving you access to a Windows desktop, so there is nowhere to install a mod manager, a client such as FiveM or your own files. The same goes for GeForce Now. Shadow PC is a full Windows PC: Nexus Mods, CurseForge, the Steam Workshop and FiveM install as they would on your own computer.
Boosteroid streams games from a list. Shadow PC is a complete Windows PC in the cloud with a dedicated NVIDIA RTX GPU: you install any launcher, game, mod or app, and your files stay on your drive. Boosteroid is cheaper and has no hour limit; Shadow PC includes 210 hours a month on the Shadow PC range and runs everything a Windows PC runs.
