Stunning trailer after stunning trailer was shown, revealing a whole host of incredible PC titles that we just couldn’t wait to forgo sleep to play. But while many of these have already been released (and added to our infinitely-expanding library of PC games), we’re still waiting on a few developers to deliver the goods.
So which games, exactly, are we missing? To help you get organised, we’ve put together a list of the most awesome unreleased PC titles from E3 2018, along with release dates (where available) and a recap on why they should be on your wishlist (if they’re not already). Let’s rewind, shall we?
Release Date: July 5 2019
If you happened to miss the trailer for this mind boggling title from Jo-Mei Games, feast your eyes now. Sea of Solitude follows Kay, a young “woman”, as she explores a partially-underwater city full of ghoulish creatures… to discover why she has become a monster herself. It’s set to be intriguing stuff - and luckily, we don’t have to wait much longer to dive deep into the mystery. Mark your calendars.
Release Date: TBC
Though our hearts have only just recovered from playing the first Ori game, we’re more than ready to take on the second… particularly as we’ve been promised all-new combat and customisation options, exciting new bosses, and a gorgeous new setting - an exotic world that transcends far beyond the mystical forest of Nibel. (Plus, the developers have included autosave functionality, which means that you no longer have to rely on those pesky soul links to save your progress - thank goodness.)
Unfortunately, we’re yet to hear about when Ori and the Will of the Wisps will come out, but we know it’ll be sometime in 2019. Here’s hoping we learn its specific release date at E3. (Pretty please.)
Release Date: November 15 2019
Though its launch still seems far, far away, we reckon the wait for Jedi: Fallen Order will be worth it. With a trailer that boasts staggering graphics, a truly epic storyline and much more, EA’s highly-anticipated release is bound to exceed our expectations… and the good news is, is that we’ll be getting a sneak peek of the actual gameplay at this year’s E3. We can’t wait.
There’s even better news, too. If you like what you see, you can preorder a standard or deluxe edition of the game from Origin - the latter of which includes awesome behind-the-scenes content along with some cosmetic DLC. As we’re pretty sure Yoda would say: “buy it, you must”.
Release Date: TBC
If you liked Alan Wake, you’re bound to be a big fan of Twin Mirror. This upcoming thriller game from Dontnod Entertainment revolves around a journalist, Sam, who wakes up next to a bloody shirt… with no recollection of how it got there or what happened the night before. It’s intriguing (and grisly) stuff, and much like Life Is Strange, the choices you make will impact on the storyline - so make sure you choose wisely.
Unfortunately, there’s still no official release date. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled at E3 for updates.
Release Date: August 27 2019
Now this one looks really special - and it should be, considering it’s from the storytelling geniuses over at Remedy Entertainment. Based in New York, Control follows a secretive agency’s Director as they struggle to regain control after a supernatural threat bursts onto the scene. Blending otherworldly themes, unique gameplay and a truly bonkers story, it’s bound to keep you glued to your screen all night. Better stock up on snacks.
