The short answer. PlayStation cloud gaming on PC is not what Sony offers today. PlayStation Plus Premium streams its games to a PS5 console and to the PlayStation Portal, and Remote Play needs a PS4 or PS5 of your own.

The other way in is the PC versions. God of War, God of War Ragnarök, the Marvel's Spider-Man series and Death Stranding 2 have all been released on PC, and several of them no longer require a PlayStation Network account. Shadow PC is a complete Windows PC in the cloud: you buy those games on Steam, install them, and play them from a laptop, a Mac, a TV or a phone, with a DualSense in your hands.

Where PlayStation cloud gaming actually streams

PlayStation Plus Premium costs $19.99 a month or $159.99 a year in the US. Its cloud streaming covers the Game Catalog, hundreds of PS2 and PS3 classics and some digital PS5 games you own, and Sony lists two devices for it: the PS5 console and the PlayStation Portal.

Since November 5, 2025, the Portal can stream those games without a PS5 switched on at home. It is the closest thing to PlayStation in the cloud, but it is a handheld, not your PC.

Remote Play does work on Windows and Mac. It streams your own console, so a PS4 or PS5 has to be on at home.

The PlayStation games already on PC

Sony has been bringing its studios' games to PC for years. God of War came out on PC in 2022, then the Marvel's Spider-Man series and God of War Ragnarök. Death Stranding 2 followed on March 19, 2026.

Since January 2025, a PlayStation Network account is optional for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarök, The Last of Us Part II Remastered and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Linking one still unlocks a few in-game bonuses.

On Shadow PC, these are ordinary PC games: you buy them on Steam or Epic Games, install them on your drive and play at the settings you choose. Helldivers 2 is one of the games our players spent the most time in this summer.

Pair your DualSense over Bluetooth and play Spider-Man on the living room TV, then pick up on your MacBook the next day, same save. Plenty of our players open their Shadow PC from a Mac or a phone.

It is one PC, so it is one session at a time, like the one under a desk.

Where PlayStation Plus does better

The classics. PlayStation Plus Premium streams hundreds of PS2 and PS3 games. Most of them have never been released on PC.

The games that stay on PlayStation. Some first-party games come to PC years later, and some never do. If the one you want is still exclusive, a PS5 or a Portal is the only way.

One subscription for a catalog. On Shadow PC you buy each game. With Premium, a monthly fee covers the whole Game Catalog, as long as you stay subscribed.

If those are what you play, PlayStation Plus is the better fit.

Can you stream PlayStation Plus games on a PC?

Sony's PlayStation Plus page, checked in October 2026, lists two devices for cloud streaming: the PS5 console and the PlayStation Portal. Remote Play works on Windows and Mac, but it streams a PS4 or PS5 that you own. To play PlayStation games on a PC without a console, the route is the PC versions sold on Steam and Epic Games.

Do I need a PS5 to play PlayStation games on PC?

No, as long as the game has a PC version. God of War, God of War Ragnarök, the Marvel's Spider-Man series and Death Stranding 2 are sold on PC and run on any Windows PC that meets their requirements, including a Shadow PC. Games that are only on PlayStation still need a PS5, or a PlayStation Portal with PlayStation Plus Premium.

Which PlayStation games are available on PC?

PlayStation Studios has released many of its games on PC, including God of War (2018), God of War Ragnarök, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2, Death Stranding 2 (March 19, 2026) and Helldivers 2. The full, current list is on Steam and on PlayStation's PC pages.

Do PlayStation games on PC need a PSN account?

Not always. Since January 29, 2025, linking a PlayStation Network account is optional for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarök, The Last of Us Part II Remastered and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered on PC, and linking one unlocks in-game bonuses. Other games may still ask for one: check the store page before you buy.

Can I use a DualSense controller with Shadow PC?

Yes. Shadow PC works with Bluetooth controllers, PlayStation, Xbox and others, paired with the device you play on. You can also use a keyboard and mouse, a racing wheel or a joystick.

Can I use Shadow PC on a PS5?

Shadow does not offer an app for PlayStation consoles. You can open your Shadow PC from Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, an Android TV or Apple TV box, or a Chromium browser at pc.shadow.tech.
